About welance/directory

welance/directory: the homepage

welance/directory connects clients with small, senior teams for project work. Clients write a brief describing what they need, which is scored and matched against a network of two to seventeen person teams who already work together. Both sides remain anonymous until both accept a meeting. The directory charges nothing for creating, scoring and publishing briefs or for matching; both client and team pay €30 only if they both accept a 30-minute handshake call. The directory takes no commission on any project that results. The network has been operating since 2011 and now opens external briefs to the public.

What we found

  • Anonymous team matching until mutual interest
  • AI-assisted brief scoring and matching
  • Teams already work together with complementary skills
  • No solo freelancers, teams only
  • 30-minute handshake calls between matched parties
  • No project commission or cut

Pricing

Pricing model: Freemium

Brief creation, scoring, matching and publishing: free. One 30-minute handshake call between client and team: €30 from each side when both accept. No commission on projects.

Common questions

Why €30 and why both sides?
It is a commitment check, not a cut of the work. The same small amount means both sides chose a 30-minute handshake and intend to show up. The €30 is the whole price and the directory takes no percentage of the project.
When am I charged and what if the call does not happen?
Nothing is charged until both sides accept a time. If the call does not happen because the other side does not show, your €30 becomes credit for the next call; if you do not show, it is not returned. An offer of times stays open up to 7 days.
How many teams can I contact?
Each brief can have up to three active direct invitations and reach at most four different teams. If a team declines or does not answer within seven days, the slot opens again.
What happens after the handshake call?
You decide together what comes next: another call, a proposal, a workshop, working directly or stopping there. The directory does not sit inside the relationship or take a commission.
Why €30, and why both sides?
It is a commitment check, not a cut of the work. The same small amount means both sides chose a 30-minute handshake and intend to show up. We don't take a percentage of the project—the €30 is the whole price.
