Can I share my revenue on my listing?

An optional monthly figure you enter yourself at /account/revenue, always shown as self-reported.

Updated

What it is

Your company can show what it earned in a month - one figure, in US dollars. Nobody has to add one. The label self-reported goes with the figure everywhere, since the number is yours. Owners and managers of a listing can enter the figure.

Where to add it

You will find it at /account/revenue when signed in. Fill in the amount for the month (for example 12500 or 12500.50), choose the month and save.

How it is shown

Visitors see the amount with the word self-reported, the month it covers and the date you reported it. The figure is shown on your listing and in the revenue leaderboard. Because it is the company's number, it is shared by all the sites the company is listed on.

What we accept

You can report this month or any month from the previous two years. Enter a positive amount. Only our staff see the proof link; it is never published. The optional proof link must point to a public https page.

On the leaderboard

Verified and self-reported figures sit in two separate tables on /leaderboards/revenue, each ranked on its own. Reporting revenue adds no votes and buys no position.

Changing or removing it

A new figure replaces the old one, and Remove takes it off every page. Each change is recorded in the listing's history.

A figure we check

There is a second way to show revenue: a verified figure, which you set up at /account/revenue/verified. Either the owner of the listing or one of its managers can do it. Three ways in: a read-only Stripe key, a read-only Paddle key, or a monthly statement from PayPal, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad or another provider. With a key we read each finished month ourselves; a statement is checked by a member of our team.

When the Stripe account's display name or statement text names your company or website, or the Paddle checkout domain is your website, the figure is verified at once. Otherwise it waits for a person on our team, and you get a notice when it is approved or turned down.

Visitors see one verified number for the last finished month, broken down by source, with the date of the last check. It replaces the self-reported figure on your listing while it is shown, and it is ranked in the verified table of /leaderboards/revenue, apart from self-reported figures. Figures are shown in US dollars. Revenue in another currency is converted at the official ECB average rate for that month, and the listing says which currency it was converted from.

Stripe keys must be read-only, and every key is encrypted and never displayed again beyond its last four characters. A connected account is checked again about once a day. Removing a source at /account/revenue/verified takes its figure down; revoke the key with your provider too.

Questions people ask

Who sees the proof link?
Only our staff. It is not on any public page.
Will a high figure move me up the community board?
No. Votes rank the community board; revenue has its own table.
Can I report next month's revenue?
No. A future month is not accepted.
Can I connect more than one payment provider?
Yes. Every verified source is added into one figure for the last finished month, and each is listed with its own amount. Manage them at /account/revenue/verified.
