About KinStatus

KinStatus: the homepage

KinStatus is a family status and check-in app designed for adult children, families, and caregivers supporting loved ones from a distance. The app allows a loved one to send a simple "I'm OK" signal daily, and caregivers see a calm dashboard with the latest status, battery context, and last-known location when sharing is enabled.

The service emphasizes trust and consent: setup happens together with the loved one's knowledge, and the app shows only the most recent location as context rather than building a route history. When a check-in is missed, the family sees an Attention state with relevant information to help decide whether to call or check in.

KinStatus is built around simple daily reassurance without surveillance. It is not an emergency, medical, or security service, and families can continue using a limited Free Basic mode after the trial ends without paying.

Common questions

Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. The 30-day trial requires no card or payment details, and it does not turn into a paid subscription by itself. Nothing is charged merely because the trial ends.
What happens after the free trial?
You can choose Plus or Family, or continue with the limited Free Basic mode. Nothing is charged unless you choose a paid plan through your app store.
Do both phones need Android?
No. The caregiver app works on iPhone and Android. The loved one's app runs on Android, so their phone needs to be an Android device.
Can I set it up from another city or country?
Yes. You create the family setup in the app, and KinStatus shows a connection code. Your loved one enters that code on their own phone, so you can walk through it together over a phone call.
Is KinStatus an emergency service?
No. KinStatus is not an emergency, medical, rescue, monitoring or security service. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
