Lunio: the homepage

Lunio is a safety app designed for people who live or travel alone. You set a daily check-in interval and confirm you're okay with a single tap when your reminder arrives. If you miss it, your emergency contacts are automatically notified by email or SMS after a 60-minute grace period. The app also includes a Safety Timer for time-limited activities like solo hikes or drives. Lunio collects no location data and does not contact emergency services—it notifies only your personal contacts.

Common questions

What is Lunio?
Lunio is a simple daily signal app where you send a signal with one tap each day. If you miss it, your emergency contacts are notified automatically by email or SMS. The app does not track your location and only alerts the contacts you set up.
What happens if I miss a signal?
After your signal window opens, you have a 60-minute grace period to send it. If you don't, your contacts are notified by email. On subscription plans, they also receive an SMS approximately 10 minutes after the email.
Is Lunio free?
Yes. The free plan includes daily signal reminders and email notifications to up to 3 contacts. A subscription adds SMS notifications, the Timer feature, and higher contact limits.
How is Lunio different from a panic button?
A panic button requires you to actively press it in danger, which only works if you're conscious and able to reach your phone. Lunio works in reverse: you confirm you're okay each day, and if you don't, the alert goes out automatically, protecting against scenarios where you can't call for help.
Is this an emergency service?
No. Lunio is not a substitute for emergency services. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number immediately. Lunio only notifies your personal contacts, not emergency responders.
